Table Manners by Alan Ayckbourn
3 men, 3 women
Author of: (a selection from 70 plays written)Bedroom Farce, How the Other Half Loves, GamePlan, Dreams From a Summer House, Time of My Life, Ten Times Tables, Round and Round the Garden, Absent friends.
Table Manners is the first of three plays in Alan Ayckbourn's trilogy, The Norman Conquests. The others are: Living Together, and Round and Round the Garden. Each play is set in a different rooms of the home of Norman and his family and explores Norman's many exploits.
The families and visitors alike often behave as though they can't stand one another but juxtapositioned with this is a familiar, if emotionally chaotic, familial setting. Each play does stand alone, with Table Manners acknowledged as the funniest of the three by critics and Ayckbourn himself.
