Last of the Red Hot Lovers by Neil Simon (March 1999) Review

Last of the Red Hot Lovers by Neil Simon

1 man, 3 women

Author of: (among many others) Come Blow Your Horn, Bare Foot in the Park, The Odd Couple, Sweety Charity, Lost in Yonkers.

After twenty-two years of marriage, he suddenly gets the urge for a fling. What could he possibly be thinking of?

This very funny Neil Simon play concerns itself with a man's three unsuccessful attempts to commit adultery. Barney Cashman is happily married but wants to make it , 'just once', with another girl - even his wife's best friend!

Neil Simon's characters are so wonderfully self-identifiable that, when things don't turn out as planned, every husband who has ever let his eye wander will empathise with Barney Cashman.
